【2019 Christmas Play】先生も感動する子どもたちの成長
英語のプリスクール、キンダーガーテンの生徒は、2019年を締めくくるChristmas Playの演技をお友達や家族に披露しました。英語はもとより、個性を活かした表現力を存分に発揮しました。Christmas Playの演目の演出は先生と子どもたちの共作です。今回は先生のコメントと合わせて紹介します。

I am so proud of the kids’ performance. For most of them, it was their first time on stage and small nerves were showing, but they nailed it (while looking adorable in their teddy bear costumes)! Well done P1!

私は子どもたちの演技を心から誇りに思います。ほとんどの子どもたちにとって、この舞台は初めての経験でしたので少し緊張している姿もありましたが、皆、愛らしいテディベアのコスチュームに身を包んで、見事大成功をおさめることができました。頑張ったね！

The performance was great! I saw them improvise and remain confident throughout the performance. I'm impressed with how focused they were. This year I saw many confidence voices and performances and I’m very happy with what they had to show you. This was a very good example of how well they can do something when they practice.

とても素晴らしい舞台でした。最後まで子どもたちが堂々と演じきる姿を見る事ができました。子どもたちが集中して取り組む姿に感動し、自信にあふれた姿を見られたり、声を聞いたりすることもできました。その彼らの姿をあのように保護者の皆様にお見せすることができた事を嬉しく思っております。一生懸命取り組み、練習すればできることを子ども達に伝える事ができたのではないかと思います。

My impression(s) of the Christmas play. I felt that the overall performance and effort led to a successful presentation. At the close of the play, several parents mentioned to me that they had enjoyed it. The students seemed to have fun playing out their roles.

私はクリスマスプレイの時に彼らの演技努力の全てが舞台を大成功に導いた事に感銘を受けました。演技の後、何人もの保護者の方が舞台を堪能することができたと伝えに来て下さいました。
子どもたちはそれぞれ役になりきり、演じることをとても楽しんでいるように見えました。

My students amazed me on how they learned their lines and rehearsed their dance moves in such a short time. Their hard work, both in class and at home, led to a successful play that all the parents enjoyed and appreciated. Moreover, the kids truly enjoyed themselves as they tried to add humor and emotion to their lines. I am very proud of each and every one of my students and hope the memory of their performance will live on with them forever.

私の生徒は短い時間で台詞を覚え、ダンスの動きをリハーサルで習熟させていた姿をみて、私は本当に驚きました。学校や家での練習の成果を舞台で見せることができたのではないでしょうか。子どもたちが与えられた台詞にユーモアや気持ちを込め演技をしている姿をみて、とても誇りに思いました。この舞台を生涯忘れない思い出として覚えていてもらえると嬉しいです。

I'm so proud of preschool's performance in the Christmas play! For many of them, it was their first chance onstage, and they really showed off how hard they practiced when they not only remembered their lines and songｓ, but delivered them loudly and proudly! I hope they remember it as a one-of-a-kind experience of a lifetime, just like I always will!

私はプリスクールのクリスマスプレイのパーフォマンスを誇りに思います。多くの子ども達にとって初めての舞台経験でしたが、これまでの努力をしっかり本番で見せることができました。台詞、歌を覚えるだけでなく、大きな声で堂々と発表できた事も嬉しく思います。今回の経験が、私の心にずっと残るのように、子ども達の中にも一生残るものになるよう願っています。

Every year the children practice very hard and give their absolute best effort to make the Christmas play the best it can possibly be. This year, they put on yet another amazing performance. From learning all of their lines and dance moves perfectly to memorizing the timing of their actions, the students showed their complete joy on stage. This year’s Christmas play was truly wonderful not only because of the fun theme but also because of the students’ whole-hearted efforts.

毎年子ども達はこの日のために一生懸命練習をし、本番で一番の姿を見せられるよう努力しています。今年も素晴らしいパフォーマンスを見せてくれました。自分の台詞、ダンスをしっかり覚えたので、ステージでは最高に楽しむことが出来ました。楽しいだけでなく、子ども達の努力と心がこもったパフォーマンスでした。

Congratulations Kindergarten 1, you did it! I was extremely pleased with my students' performance. Every student committed to not only learning their lines, but also to helping their classmates learn theirs. We had a blast coming up with the choreography for our dance and our class song together. Given the complexity of our play, I was proud to see how well the children performed. I really enjoyed helping my students reach their potential on stage. Thank you for your hard work, you were amazing.

みんなよく頑張りました。私は子ども達の今回のパフォーマンスをとても嬉しく思います。子ども達は自分の台詞だけでなく、クラスメートの台詞も覚え、互いに助け合いました。私たちはダンスと歌の振り付けを一緒に考えました。パフォーマンスの複雑さを考えると、子ども達がどれほどに上手く発表出来たかと、誇りに思います。私は子ども達の可能性を伸ばすことに喜びを感じました。みんな素晴らしいステージを本当にありがとう。

The students gave a fantastic performance in the play. I was very pleased with how well they performed. The focus, determination, and enthusiasm that they showed during our practice times and rehearsals was evident when they were on stage. The children were obviously pleased with the play and they were all proud of what they accomplished. I think it added a little extra magic to their Christmas season this year.

Mele Kalikimaka (Merry Christmas) everyone! This was my first Christmas play and I had the most enjoyable, memorable time of my life. The P1 girls diligently worked hard and showed significant progress with each practice. They sure made this play cute and wonderful as it can be. I am very proud of them remembering their lines and dance moves. Futhermore, I can’t thank the parents enough for making the lovely props and my costume. Great mahalo to all. My students blew me away! They were incredibly dedicated to putting on a show that was not only impressive to watch, but fun to do. It was easy to see how hard they worked, each bringing their unique energy to spoken lines and dance choreography. They made a wonderful team, always encouraging and helping each other through any obstacles along the way. I hope they are as proud of themselves as I am of them. Thank you!

Happy New Year!
I was so impressed with the level of dedication and professionalism the K1`s put into their performance. Being my first Christmas play, I wasn`t certain what to expect but the kids pulled it off and did an amazing job. Congratulations! We had such a wonderful time putting all our hard work and effort into something the parents can be proud of watching and treasure. I must give a huge thanks to all the parents who spent so much time and effort putting together the costumes and play props. The children looked great in them. Great job Everyone!

This year's play was our very first sequel, and I think that added a lot to the children's understanding of the play, especially my K2 class. They enjoyed all the preparation and practice, and were truly able to treat it more like play than hard work and dedication (which they had in droves). In the end this all shone through in their acting and performance, which was a unique creation and reflection of each student's traits and personality.

今年のクリスマスプレイは私共が行うプレイとしては初めての以前のプレイの続編でした。それが子ども達にとって、特にK2クラスにとっては、プレイを理解してもらうのにより効果的であったと思います。子ども達はプレイの準備や練習をとても楽しんでいて最高のプレイでした。結果的には子ども達一人一人の性格や個性を独自の創作と反映に生かせた演技となって輝いていましたね。
