English Expressの2025年11月のField Tripは芋堀りへ行き、泥んこになって秋の収穫を楽しみました。先生たちのコメントをお伝えします。

Kajigaya Preschool Lewis

The potato digging event was a fantastic hands-on learning experience for the children. They were very excited to dig in the soil, discover the potatoes, and learn where food comes from. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, teamwork, and big smiles as they worked together and enjoyed being outdoors. – Lewis

芋掘りイベントは子どもたちにとって素晴らしい体験学習となりました。土を掘り返し、じゃがいもを見つけ、食べ物がどこから来るのかを学ぶことに大興奮でした。彼らが協力し合い、屋外で楽しいひとときを過ごす中で見せた好奇心やチームワーク、そして満面の笑顔は、本当に素晴らしい光景でした。 -ルイス

Kajigaya K1 Zach

This November we had a wonderful opportunity to visit a farm and get our hands dirty by digging up some potatoes. The Kajigaya K1’s had such a fun time digging up potatoes with their bare hands and the looks of amazement everytime they uncovered another potato!! After that we had a giant picnic at a nearby park with the other English Express schools and had the opportunity to explore and play games together! – Zach

11月、私たちは素晴らしい機会に恵まれ、農場を訪れて芋掘りをする体験をしました。梶が谷K1クラスの子どもたちは素手で芋を掘る作業を大いに楽しみ、次々と掘り当てた芋に毎回驚きの表情を見せていました！その後は近隣の公園で他のイングリッシュエクスプレス校と合同のピクニックを開催し、　一緒に散策やゲームを楽しむ機会を持ちました！ – ザック

Kajigaya K2 Bill

Riding in the bus the children were filled with anticipation, looking forward to what lay ahead. The children were eager to get their hands dirty and uncover what lay beneath their feet. After working hard, smiles filled their faces as they uncovered their treasure, delicious sweet potatoes. It was an amazing experience, not only for the children, but for myself as well. The kids were just as excited the next day to share how much they enjoyed sharing their potatoes with their families for dinner. I always look forward to this event and can not wait for the next time. – Bill

バスに乗った子どもたちは期待に胸を膨らませ、これから待ち受けることに胸を躍らせていました。子どもたちは土を触り、自分たちの足元の地中に何が埋まっているのかを掘り起こすのを心待ちにしていました。一生懸命芋掘りをした末に、掘り起こした宝物、おいしいサツマイモを見つけた子どもたちの顔には笑顔が溢れていました。それは子どもたちだけでなく、私自身にとっても素晴らしい体験でした。翌日も子供たちは、夕食に家族と芋を分けて食べるのがどれほど楽しかったかを話すのに、同じように目を輝かせていました。私はいつもこの行事を楽しみにしており、次回の開催が待ちきれません。- ビル

Centerkita P1 & P2 Sam

The children had a wonderful and memorable trip during our potato picking trip. The journey began with great fun on the big bus ride to the farm, and everyone was exceptionally well-behaved. Upon arrival, the students enthusiastically took the opportunity to get down into the mud, digging up as many potatoes as they could find. With all school events, it is a great pleasure to see the children from the other schools, and we were particularly happy to see Hibito. I sincerely hope you all enjoyed the potatoes that the children harvested. -Sam

芋掘り遠足で子どもたちは素晴らしく思い出深い体験をしました。畑へ向かう大型バスでの移動は最初から大いに盛り上がりましたが、同時に皆、非常に行儀良く過ごしました。到着すると、生徒たちは泥の中へ飛び込むかのように多くのサツマイモを掘り起すことができました。学校行事ではいつも他校の子供たちと会えるのが大きな喜びですが、今回は特に響斗君に会えて嬉しかったです。皆様方が、子供たちが収穫したジャガイモを楽しんでくださったことを心から願っております。-サム

We were delighted that we had great weather for our sweet potato digging excursion on November 10th. It was a great experience shared by all of us. After getting down and dirty digging for our potatoes we made our way back to the bus and headed out to have a picnic and play at the park. At the park we were able to play games with all of the kids from the other English Express schools. And of course the kids got to show each other their snacks on the bus as we made our way back to school! -Steven

11月10日の芋掘り遠足は素晴らしい天気に恵まれ、とても嬉しかったです。土まみれになりながらサツマイモを掘った素晴らしい体験の後バスに戻り、ピクニック会場の公園へ向かいました。公園では他のスクールの子供たち全員とゲームを楽しんで遊びました。そしてもちろん、帰りのバスでは子供たちはお互いにおやつを見せ合いながら学校へ向かいました！-スティーブン

Centerkita K1＆K2 Jesse

What an exciting, fun-filled, adventurous time our trip to the farm turned out to be. Although digging up sweet potatoes was the highlight of our day, many other things rounded out our experience, making it one of our best field trips yet. First, the trip to the park, and back, was absolutely jam packed with conversation, jokes, riddles, songs, rhymes and chants. The kids were laughing and talking a mile a minute. Our stop-over at a nearby park for lunch, turned out to be a mission in exploration, and camaraderie. We met up with the Kajigaya kindergarten students, and played games, raced, and generally cavorted around the park with them to the sounds of children’s joy. I am sure every student had a trip to remember. -Jesse

畑への遠足はなんともワクワクする楽しい冒険に満ちた時間となりました。サツマイモ掘りこそが一日の中で最も盛り上がった出来事でしたが、他にも多くの体験が加わり、これまでで最高の遠足の一つとなりました。まず、公園への行き帰り道は、会話や冗談、なぞなぞ、歌、リズム遊び、掛け声でぎっしり埋め尽くされていました。子供たちは笑い声をあげ、一分間に何マイルも話す勢いで喋り続けていました。近くの公園で昼食をとった休憩時間は、探検と友情を深める貴重な機会となりました。梶ヶ谷校の園児たちと出会い、一緒にゲームをしたり競争したり子どもたちの歓声が響く中、公園中を駆け回って遊びました。きっと全員が忘れられない思い出を作れたことでしょう。-ジェシー

Utsukushigaoka P1 Dominique

Our preschoolers had a wonderful time on their sweet potato digging field trip! With muddy hands and big smiles, everyone dug into the soil to discover sweet potatoes hidden underground. They enjoyed the excitement of finding their own vegetables. It was a fun, hands-on experience that connected learning with nature and left everyone happy—and a little dirty—by the end of the day. -Dominique

私たちのP1の生徒たちはサツマイモ掘りの遠足で素晴らしい時間を過ごしました!泥だらけの手と大きな笑顔で、みんなは土を掘り、土の中に隠されたサツマイモを見つけました。自分たちで野菜を見つけるワクワク感を楽しんでいました。学びと自然がつながる楽しく実践的な体験で、少し汚れてしまいましたが、みんな大満足でした。-ドミニィック

This year’s potato digging trip was a fun experience for the P2 students. They got to see how food is grown and also experience the challenge of harvesting vegetables from the ground.I’m sure all the students enjoyed eating the fruits of their labors at home with their families. -Andrew

Utsukushigaoka K1 Shane

Our Potato digging trip was so much fun. The kids loved getting some real farming experience, and seeing where their food comes from. We also had a great time playing kickball and having a picnic at the park afterwards. It was surely an event to remember. -Shane

私たちのジャガイモ掘りの旅はとても楽しかったです。子どもたちは本物の農業体験を楽しみ、自分たちの食べ物がどこから来ているのかを見るのが大好きでした。キックボールをしたり、その後公園でピクニックをしたりして、とても楽しい時間を過ごしました。間違いなく忘れられない出来事となりました。-シェイン

Utsukushigaoka K2 Matthew

The potato digging field trip was a wonderful experience for the children. It’s so important for children to understand how plants grow as well as how hard farmers have to work to make sure there’s enough food for everyone. By digging up their own potatoes the children can experience a little bit of farming. The weather was lovely and all the students enjoyed our picnic lunch and games after we had harvested the potatoes. Many students were excited to tell myself and their classmates about cooking and eating the potatoes they got at home and some of them had their field trip potatoes in their lunches in the days after the field trip. It was a great day on the farm! -Matthew

サツマイモ掘りの遠足は子どもたちにとって素晴らしい体験でした。 子どもたちが植物の成長や、農家がみんなに十分な食料を確保するためにどれほど努力しているかを理解することは非常に重要です。 自分でサツマイモを掘ることで、子どもたちはその体験ができました。 天気も良く、サツマイモを収穫した後のピクニックランチやゲームを全てを楽しみました。 多くの生徒が私やクラスメートに、手に入れたサツマイモをお家で料理して食べたことを嬉しそうに話してくれました。中には遠足の後日の昼食に遠足で収穫したサツマイモを食べていた人もいました。 農場での素晴らしい一日でした! -マシユウ
